Kate Roberts is a registered Chinese medicine practitioner and acupuncturist, registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand (Registration No. 1063). She holds recognised registrations as a Chinese medicine practitioner (acupuncturist) and Chinese medicine specialist – mental health.

Kate holds a PhD in Primary Health Care, a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Medicine, and a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture. Her doctoral research focused on communication and collaboration in primary health care, with a particular emphasis on integrated, patient‑centred models of care.

Kate’s clinical practice focuses on supporting people experiencing mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, and sleep disturbance. She also provides acupuncture support for musculoskeletal conditions such as sporting injuries, as well as women’s health presentations, including pregnancy‑related care. Her approach is evidence‑informed and grounded in collaborative practice, working alongside allied and mainstream health professionals where appropriate.

Kate is the founder and Chair of Acupuncture for Mental Health Wellington, a professional group focused on building collaborative care pathways and supporting the safe and appropriate use of Chinese medicine within mental health contexts.

In addition to clinical practice, Kate works as a Professional Advisor to the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand, contributing to regulatory, education, and professional standards work. She also works as a performance and conditioning coach in Wellington.

Kate is passionate about providing holistic, high‑quality acupuncture care and works collaboratively with patients to support their physical and mental wellbeing.
